- By the time your bank uncovers the fraud, your refunded money is already in the scammer’s hands.
What you can do:
- Be wary of unsolicited offers from people you don’t know.
- Never send money back for a check that hasn’t been fully verified by your bank.
- Never send money to someone you haven’t met face-to-face.
